Kicking Bear Camp

Sparta, WI – a Kicking Bear Camp will be held on Saturday, August 26th from 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Located at Justin Trails Resort 7452 Kathryn Avenue, Sparta WI about 8 miles south of Sparta. Kicking Bear is free of charge and is open to children from all walks of life ages 5 - 13. The steep hills and vistas leading up to and surrounding Justin Trails Resort are nothing less than spectacular. A colorful array of birds, butterflies, flowers, and forest surround the hilly and open grassy areas where Kicking Bear will be held. The location was the Justin family’s dairy farm since 1916 and has been used as a Bed and Breakfast Resort since the 1980s. “We use Kicking Bear Camps to reach kiddos ages 5 – 13 with a focus on underprivileged and at-risk youth or any youth that would like to get in the outdoors to let them know that God has a purpose for them, and that purpose is good. Bring your own kids and a kid from outside your home.” said Ray Howell Kicking Bear Ministry Founding Servant. Some children have the opportunity to be matched up with a mentor. By encouraging others to reach outside their homes and become mentors we can help break the cycle of broken families and put dreams in these kids’ hearts that will not only change their lives but their families’ lives for years to come. Many of these children would never have had the opportunity to experience the outdoors and the sport of archery, had it not been for the Godly men and women who stepped into their lives. There will be fun events for kids to experience hands-on including archery, tomahawks, Slip ’N Slide, BB guns, tough course, games, tug-of-war, and bonfire.
