Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:  The Business Development R&PD Analyst has the primary role of utilizing research software to identify business opportunities suited to Gana-A’Yoo and its subsidiaries that are 6-18 months from being formally offered or advertised.  This research shall be aligned with the corporate vision for each subsidiary and the work it seeks to attract to it through the collective think of the organization.  This will be modified as the organization grows and evolves over time, and through the creation of new subsidiaries.  The research will compliment the various subject matter pipelines that are developed by the senior staff and subsidiary General Managers.  Progress using spreadsheets and similar documents shall be reported twice monthly to the VP of Business Development, for review, course correction, and action on the most promising opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (primary duties): JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (how to proficiently carry-out each duty):
Work as member of the Business Development team   Plans, coordinates, and conducts BD research consistent with established subject matter pipelines established by the organization.  Collaborates with subsidiary General Managers to gauge the evolving culture of the subsidiary sweet spots, capabilities, and desire for growth.  Collaborates with consultant working for the BD Department to further research targets identified by the consultants.  Works under the guidance of the VP of Business Development.
Identifies expiring opportunities in the general marketplace Using provided software tools such as FEDMINE, researches upcoming opportunities in the 6-18-month forward time horizon.  Also utilizes data provided by consultants to the BD Department such as agency forecasts to identify potential business leads.  Drills down into specific leads to more fully understand who the full range of specifics attached to the opportunity and whether it is a potential target for the firm.  Opportunities are vetted for reasonableness and attractiveness to the overall company, and to a subsidiary specifically.  As time in the position advances, the expectation of new finds being relevant and attractive will grow accordingly.
Researches 8a expiring contracts database for relevant leads Distills an expansive list of expiring 8a contracts into those that are either relevant for capture by the firm solely, or through a partnering relationship where the incumbent may not be eligible but commands an expertise and desires a new 8a Prime.
Identifies direct award trends in general and by opportunity From the research conducted in general, the successful analyst shall be able to advise the senior staff what agencies have a track record of direct award actions.  The intent is to alert the VP of BD regarding areas that are worthwhile engaging in person for socializing our capabilities and being awarded contracts directly.
Other Performs incidental tasks related to the position as well as various duties, as assigned, to support the overall objectives/goals of the team while maintaining a positive attitude.  This may require incidental travel to Industry Days, client meetings, or other business development training sessions in the lower 48 and Alaska.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: WORKING ENVIRONMENT:  The majority of work is performed in an office setting. This position interfaces with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities.
